Surfing is meant to be fun, and it’s only fun when you feel safe. Every surf lesson at Wanderlust starts with safety and builds from there.
Qualified instructors
Our team of experienced instructors ensures you’re safe at all times. Highly qualified and led by Kutty (ISA and ILS-certified), they have years of experience reading and surfing Arugam Bay’s waves, and are fluent in English so you always understand instructions.
Small groups (2:1 student instructor ratio)
We have a ratio of two students for one instructor. We carefully assess your level beforehand, so you’re never put in water beyond your level. We can arrange private lessons upon request.
Safety briefing and theory
Each surf camp starts with a thorough safety lesson and briefing on ocean hazards and etiquette. Beginners get to practice key movements like pop-ups on the beach before entering the water.
Safe equipment in top condition
We work with top equipment (rash guard, board matched to your size and level, leash), starting with soft boards for beginners.
