Yes, you can! If you’re staying elsewhere in Arugam Bay or Pottuvil, just book your lessons directly with us. Whether you’re here for a day or a week, our surf school is open to all.

What price packages do you offer at Wanderlust Surf Camp?

We offer flexible packages based on how long you stay and what you need. Just check out our website or message us on WhatsApp for the most up-to-date prices in USD. You can choose between shared rooms and double rooms, depending on your travel style.

What is the cancellation policy if travel disruptions occur?

If a guest is unable to travel due to flight disruptions or similar unforeseen circumstances, two options are available:

  • 25% refund: Half of the deposit will be returned (equivalent to 25% of the total booking).
  • Date change: The full deposit can be carried forward and applied to another available date later in the season or at a future time.

This policy is intended to provide flexibility for guests facing travel uncertainties.

When’s the best time to surf in Arugam Bay?

The best time to visit is between April and October. During this season, the Indian Ocean brings consistent swells to the east coast of Sri Lanka, making it a paradise for all levels, from beginners to experienced surfers. From Whiskey Point at sunrise to Peanut Farm at sunset, it doesn’t get much better.

How do I get to Wanderlust Surf Camp?

We’re located in Arugam Bay, which is about 7–8 hours from Colombo, the Sri Lankan capital, by car or bus. We can help you arrange transfers if needed. Once you’re here, our team handles local transport to all the best surf spots by tuk tuk.

What else can I do around Arugam Bay?

There’s loads to explore! Go on a safari to spot wild elephants, explore ancient temples, or relax with a coconut by the sea. If you’re into wellness, you can also find plenty of yoga retreats around Arugam Bay.

Is Arugam bay only for advanced surfers?

No! Whilst it is true that Main Point is a World class point break and surfers travel from all over to surf the perfect right handers there are many other surf breaks to choose from such as Peanut Farm and Elephant rock which are both ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.

Arugam Bay is all about the Party vibe.

It is true that there are plenty of beach bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from and there are also lively parties to be enjoyed if that is what you are looking for. But the location of Wanderlust Surf Camp, just outside of the main town offers a peaceful haven perfect to relax and rest in between your surf sessions. It is just a short stroll or tuk tuk ride to the main town for the nights that you want to party.

We can assure you that every review has been written by a guest who has surfed with us. You will be able to see that almost all have added photos of themselves and the same guest often feature in our Instagram and Website content.

Is it safe for solo travellers, particularly women to travel in Sri Lanka?

Yes. We have had many solo travellers staying with us, some as young as 18 and they have all told us how safe they feel. Sri Lanka has a reputation for the hospitality and kindness of its people and you will find this in abundance at Wanderlust. We are very happy to help you arrange any transport you may need, for example from and to the airport or tours and excursions.
